The Lockwood 001 is a versatile fire rated deadlatch suitable for both inward and outward opening doors and also compatible with either metal or timber door frames. The Whitco deadlatch offers the same features and versatility and we recommend it as an equally suitable selection. Both the Lockwood and Whitco deadlatches come in single and double cylinder configuration. The double cylinder configuration is the type of deadlock preferred by insurance companies. Double cylinder means that you can deadlock the internal half of the lock so that in the case of a break in through a window an intruder would not be able to unlock the door to get out.
